Conference

ANAC Conference is held every June somewhere in the state. Over 300 pieces of artwork from around the state are juried by local clubs to form a statewide exhibition during Conference. A national artist is invited to judge the Conference exhibit and teach a three-day workshop. Other Conference classes are taught by Nebraska artists to meet the varied interests and media of ANAC artists. Friday night an awards banquet honors all the winners. The Best of Show, 24 Award of Excellence winners, will travel the state for the next year. Signature membership is attained after 5 Awards of Excellence. There are also 24 Certificate of Merit awards, and a Museum of Nebraska Art purchase award. No other state has an art club like ours!  All you have to do is join a Nebraska art club that is also affiliated with ANAC. enter work in their juried spring show and if yours wins, it travels to the Conference where it is judged again. If it wins at Conference, it will be displayed in 8-12 venues across the state. (Note changes for 2021 below)

The 2019 Conference in Albion was a great success, thanks to Wendy Bonge, our wonderful ex-president!  She did a great job putting on a fantastic event.

2020 Conference was cancelled due to Covid19 concerns.

2021 Conference will be virtual–including the exhibition. In an effort to not skip another year, the board has decided to break new ground and get together online this year. The show will be judged with jpeg entries by Tom Christopher, an Iowa landscape artist/instructor, and signature member of the Pastel Society of America. Viewing of the show and winners will be available June 10th on our website and Facebook Group page. Mr. Christopher’s workshop was available June 10-July 10, 2021.

2022- Broken Bow – IN PERSON CONFERENCE. The 2022 exhibition will include a digital slideshow of 2021’s “travel” show, rather than the usual separate physical space in the exhibition. For more info go to: http://nebraskaartclubs.org/anac-conference-workshops
