Letter from Karen Thurlow, 2024 ANAC chairman, Fremont, NE

Dear fellow ANAC artists and friends,
I wish to welcome you to our place for the 2024 conference. We are hard at work trying to make this
conference special just for you. When we have guests, we want them to feel comfortable, enjoy
themselves and know that we are so happy to have you in our hometown.
Our theme is “The State of the Arts”. We want to showcase all the fantastic art that we have here in
Nebraska. Our judge, Susann Beck is a phenomenal portrait artist and has 3 outstanding days of classes
lined up for you. Also, we have 8 more capable artists to teach their various types of art. There is
something for everyone. All classes will be help either at the Fremont Middle School or at the Gallery 92. The registration and the art show will be at the Fremont Middle School.
We have evenings planned for you that I think you are going to enjoy. You will have great opportunities
to mix with all the talented artists who come from all over our beautiful state. Wednesday evening, we
invite to our Gallery 92 for a chance to mingle and renew acquaintances with us and all the other artists,
and to also tour our beautiful building, and view our “all members” show. There will be drinks and
snacks and maybe even a little entertainment.
Thursday evening, we will be the very first group to use the brand-new activity room at our newly
remodeled Keene Memorial Library. Of course, there will be food and fun. An artistic potato bar with
all the fixings, salad, and a “make yourself a sundae” bar to satisfy your stomach. Games and comradery
afterwards. If that is not enough, you can sit out on their patio, relax, and enjoy good live music that will
be playing in the near-by park!
Friday night will be special. Our Awards banquet will be held in the historical Fremont Opera House, just
across the street from our Gallery 92. This is a very interesting place, the stories it could tell. We will
have a lovely catered dinner with a cash bar to start the evening. No one should miss this.
Saturday will be full of more good classes, and art show like no other. As it all winds down, we hope we
had another successful, fun, creative conference. We can’t wait to see you!
Karen Thurlow, 2024 ANAC chairman
